Political instability in Burundi and the Democratic Republic of the Congo has caused a large number of refugees to seek sanctuary in Tanzania. As of December 2017, Tanzania is hosting almost 235,000 Burundian refugees and over 50,000 refugees from the DRC in three refugee camps. To respond to this situation, NRC now operates in two camps hosting Burundian asylum seekers and refugees in Mtendeli camp and Burundian and Congolese asylum seekers and refugees in Nyarugusu Camp
NRC Tanzania office is seeking to recruit Education Project Manager. The purpose of the Education Project Manager position is to implement delegated Education project portfolio.
The Project Manager will have overall responsibility for the design and implementation of NRC’s education projects in Tanzania. The following is a brief description of the role.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in project management, gained from coordinating and/or managing education programmes (including formal and non-formal education and education in emergencies), especially in displacement-affected humanitarian/early recovery contexts;Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts;
Strong co-ordination competence, with the ability to establish and supervise technical lines, promote communication and knowledge sharing, manage multiple work streams, and ensure quality;
Understanding and experience of project monitoring, evaluation and reporting, with the ability to design effective M&E tools and train implementation staff in their use, and to use evidence to inform project design and management;
Sound interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with in particular the ability to write concise, accurate proposals and reports in easily understood language;
Commitment to participatory and inclusive methods of working;
Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile;
Fluency in English, both written and verbal. French, Kirundi and/or Kiswahili is an asset
